Issue 5/2013: How green will it be?

The election campaign has caused enormous damage to the German “Energiewende”. We ask: Can the designated coalition government of Christian and Social Democrats find a way to put it right? With EWEA Offshore 2013 looming we take a closer look at developments in the North Sea. While the UK’s offshore sector seems to be going from strength to strength, its German counterpart is increasingly losing the euphoria of the early days. However, it’s not all doom and gloom with respect to renewables, as researchers and developers are coming up with new cost-saving innovations to lead the solar industry onto a new level.
